The most direct way to understand how wine is made in the Colli Orientali: walk, look, and taste. Tasting of 4 native and international wines from the Colli Orientali del Friuli.
We start in the vineyard, walking among the rows that wind upward and the woods that begin where the vines end; if we’re lucky, we might even spot some wildlife.
Then we head into the winery, where we’ll show you where the grapes arrive, where the must ferments, and where the wine rests and takes its time.
Finally, we’ll sit down at the table for a tasting of wines from the Colli Orientali del Friuli.
We have a handful of wines that we truly feel are our own, among the others we produce: the indigenous Friulano, the elegant Pinot Bianco, the eclectic Pinot Grigio Ramato, the cross-border Malvasia, the Schioppettino —which these hills know all too well—and the Pignolo, austere and wary, like any Friulian.
We’ll choose which ones to open together with you: four glasses selected on the spot, guided by our intuition and the curiosity that’s sparked in you as you listened to us.
To accompany them, rustic bread and breadsticks: a simple pairing to focus the tasting, so that the wines speak for themselves.
Our vision for a winery tour is to show you the place where we work every day, just as it is. We don’t promise a polished, scripted experience, but you’ll experience the true essence that will help you understand what’s inside a glass of Friulian wine.
